The Grand Valley State men's golf team will host its only home tournament of the fall, partnering with the Golf Coaches' Association of America to organize the Folds of Honor Challenge. The event winner will receive an automatic entry into the 2026 Folds of Honor Collegiate.

Grand Valley State started its fall season last week at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, where it finished ninth, marking its best performance at that event. Manuel Cue Vargas led the Lakers with an 11th-place finish. Teammates Bryce Wheeler, Charlie Cooley, and Maverick Conaway tied for 28th place, while Ryan Gallagher placed 42nd after three rounds.

This year marks the third edition of the Folds of Honor Challenge, which provides non-Division I schools a chance to qualify for next year's Folds of Honor Collegiate. Grand Valley State has won all previous editions since the tournament began. This year’s field includes GVSU as the only ranked team at 15th in the Golf Coaches' Association poll. Other participants include Wayne State, Dallas Baptist, Findlay, and UIndy—each receiving votes in the Division II poll—as well as teams from Division III, NAIA, and junior colleges. The tournament is scheduled over three days with 18 holes played each day.

Representing Grand Valley State in this year's lineup are Manuel Cue, Maverick Conaway, Charlie Cooley, Bryce Wheeler, and Emil Olofsson. Four additional players—Ryan Gallagher, Finley Dober, Murphy Kehoe, and Andrew Gwilliams—will compete as individuals for GVSU. Tee times for the opening round have not yet been announced.
