Koby Fraaza and Lauren Kiley have been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Cross Country Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Michigan State Spartan Invite. Both athletes contributed to strong team finishes, with the Grand Valley State men's team placing second and the women's team finishing third.

Fraaza, a redshirt-senior, finished second in the men's 8k race with a time of 23:44.8, running at a pace of 4:46 per kilometer. He finished just behind Riley Hough from Michigan State, who won with a time of 23:41.1. This result marked an improvement for Fraaza compared to last year's Spartan Invite, where he placed fourth with a time of 24:49.3.

Lauren Kiley began her senior season by earning GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors after leading her team at the same event. The reigning NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Champion completed the women's 6k course in 20:44.8, which was close to her personal best. She finished tenth overall among competitors from Northwestern, Cincinnati, and Michigan State and contributed nine points to Grand Valley State's total.

"Fraaza's second place finish at the 2025 Michigan State Spartan Invite granted him the first GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors of the season," according to Grand Valley State University Athletics.

"Kiley opened her senior season with a first place team finish and GLIAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors," as stated by university officials.

The men's team scored 66 points to secure second place behind Michigan State, while the women's team finished third with 119 points, following Northwestern (18) and Michigan State (89).
