Grand Valley State women’s golf takes second at Folds of Honor Challenge

The Grand Valley State women's golf team began their spring season by securing second place at the Folds of Honor Challenge in Allendale, Michigan. The Lakers finished with a total score of +39, two strokes ahead of Dallas Baptist, which placed third. Findlay won the tournament for the second year in a row, finishing at +13. West Texas A&M and Odessa completed the top five.

Two Lakers finished among the top ten individually. Charlotte Goersch was runner-up with an even-par performance, shooting a final round 70 that included six birdies and moving up two spots to secure second place. Lea Stotz tied for tenth at nine over par after carding a 69 with two birdies.

Other notable performances from Grand Valley State included June Hsiao tying for 13th at +11 after shooting a 74 in her final round. Rachael Krieger tied for 27th with an 81 and one birdie, while Heida Rafnsdottir also tied for 30th after posting an 80. Skyler Tierney joined Rafnsdottir in a tie for 30th with a round of 76 and two birdies.

Evelyn Park ended her tournament tied for 40th following an 81, and Lorena Saquicoray finished in 46th place after making two birdies during her round of 79.

The Lakers will compete next week at the Warrior Invitational in Washington, Michigan.
