The Grand Valley State women's golf team secured a runner-up finish at the Warrior Invitational in Washington, Michigan, marking their second consecutive second-place result this fall season. The Lakers tied with Findlay University at +21 after regulation play, but lost the tiebreaker by one stroke to the Oilers. Ferris State finished third at +48, followed by Davenport in fourth place at +61, and Northwood in fifth at +70.
Freshman June Hsiao achieved her first collegiate win in individual competition. She was one of four players tied for first place, including teammate Rachael Krieger. The playoff extended to five holes before Hsiao claimed victory. Both Hsiao and Krieger completed regulation play three over par.
Charlotte Goersch recorded a final round score of 71, finishing eighth overall at eight over par. Lea Stotz was one stroke behind Goersch, placing ninth after making two birdies in her final round of 75. Heida Rafnsdottir also made two birdies during her last round of 77 and finished tied for 22nd place. Skyler Tierney ended the tournament tied for 40th at +29.
The Lakers will compete again this weekend with back-to-back events: two days at the Lady Bulldog Invitational in Big Rapids on Saturday and Sunday, followed by a single-day event on Monday at the Meadows for the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite.
