The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's golf team secured its second victory of the season by winning the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite in Allendale, Michigan. The Lakers came from behind in the second round to claim an eight-stroke win over their nearest competitors.
The team posted scores of 291 and 294, finishing nine over par for the tournament. After trailing by five shots at the end of round one, GVSU overtook the lead early in round two and maintained it through to the end. Findlay and Ferris State tied for second place at 17 over par. Gannon placed fourth with a score of +36, while Tiffin finished fifth at +52.
Charlotte Goersch was runner-up individually, recording rounds of 73 (+1) and 69 (-3) to finish two under par. Over two rounds, she made seven birdies and achieved her first two collegiate eagles. June Hsiao and Rachael Krieger tied for third place at even par; Hsiao had rounds of 73 and 71 with two birdies on day two, while Krieger carded six birdies across her rounds of 71 and 73.
Other notable performances included Evelyn Park tying for 16th place at eight over par after shooting rounds of 74 (+2) and 78 (+6), with three birdies. Lea Stotz tied for 23rd at +11 with five birdies across her rounds. Heida Rafnsdottir ended in a tie for 34th at +16 after posting scores of 79 (+7) and 81. Skyler Tierney shot rounds of 82 (+10) and 86 (+14), making three birdies to finish tied for 53rd at +24. Lorena Saquicoray finished tied for 60th at +30.

Next week, the Lakers will compete in Ohio at the William Beall Fall Classic in Findlay.
