The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's golf team is currently in second place after the first day of competition at the William Beall Fall Classic, held at Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio. Host school Findlay leads the tournament with a team score of +19, while GVSU trails by eight strokes. The University of Indianapolis is third at +38, followed by Gannon and Ferris State.

Three Lakers golfers are positioned within the top 10 individually. Lea Stotz is tied for third after posting rounds of 78 (+6) and 70 (-2), finishing four over par with four birdies. June Hsiao sits one shot behind Stotz in a tie for sixth place; she carded scores of 73 (+1) and 76 (+4), also making four birdies. Charlotte Goersch is eighth at seven over par after rounds of 75 (+3) and 76 (+4), recording one birdie per round.

Other contributors include Heida Rafnsdottir, who is tied for 16th at twelve over par with seven birdies from her two rounds of 76 and 80 (+8). Rachael Krieger finished the day tied for 30th, scoring two rounds of 79 (+7) with four birdies to end at +14. Evelyn Park competed as an individual and stands at +19 following rounds of 79 and 84 (+12), with two birdies.

The final round will begin tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m.
