Grand Valley State women's golf takes second place at William Beall Fall Classic

The Grand Valley State women's golf team secured a second-place finish at the William Beall Fall Classic in Findlay, Ohio. The tournament marked their first competition of October and was held at the University of Findlay's home course.

Findlay won the event with a team score of +30, finishing 14 strokes ahead of Grand Valley State, which ended at +44. This marks the Lakers' third runner-up result during the fall season. The University of Indianapolis (UIndy) placed third with a total score of +47, followed by Tampa at +59 and Ferris State at +61.

Individually, Lea Stotz led Grand Valley State by finishing third overall after carding an even-par 72 in her final round, including two birdies to complete the tournament at four over par. June Hsiao took sixth place with a score of +8 and one birdie in her last round of 75 (+3). Charlotte Goersch tied for tenth at +13 after posting a final-round 78 (+6) with two birdies. Rachael Krieger finished tied for 37th at +22 following a round of 80 (+8). Heida Rafnsdottir ended tied for 45th at +24 with one birdie in her closing round of 84 (+12), while Evelyn Park also shot an 84 and finished tied for 59th.

The Lakers will have a two-week break before competing in their final fall event, the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin, scheduled for October 20-21 in Farmington, Pennsylvania.
