Grand Valley State University's women's soccer team secured a 2-1 victory against Ferris State on Friday in Big Rapids, Michigan, extending their winning streak to seven games. The Lakers now hold a 9-1 overall record and remain undefeated in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) with a 6-0 mark.

The first half ended without any goals, with Grand Valley State leading in shots taken. Cora Conley had an early opportunity for the Lakers in the 14th minute, but her shot was saved by Ferris State's goalkeeper.

The match saw its first goal in the 50th minute when Kacy Lauer scored following a sequence from a corner kick. Alex Williams delivered the ball into the box, which Mackenzie Ford headed toward Lauer, who then converted for her third goal of the season.

In the 77th minute, Ivy Wilhelm increased Grand Valley State's lead to 2-0. After Shea Douglass sent in a cross that was cleared by Ferris State's defense, Wilhelm collected it outside the box and scored with a shot that struck the crossbar before going in. This marked Wilhelm's third goal of the season and her second game-winner.
