Grand Valley State women's soccer loses to Parkside with late goal

The Grand Valley State University women's soccer team, ranked No. 2, was defeated 1-0 by Parkside on Friday in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Lakers now have a season record of 9-2 and are 6-1 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The only goal of the match came with just two seconds left in regulation. Grand Valley State outshot Parkside 15-8 overall and had six shots on goal compared to Parkside's three. The Lakers also earned four corner kicks while limiting the Rangers to one.

Kendall Aikens led Grand Valley State with four shots, one of which was on target. Sarah Fromm took three shots and placed two on goal, while Alli French contributed two shots on frame. Acadia Murphy, Kacy Lauer, and Mackenzie Ford each played the full 90 minutes.

Grand Valley State will finish its road trip Sunday against Roosevelt in Schaumburg, Illinois. The match is scheduled for 1:00 PM ET (12:00 PM CT) and will be streamed live on FloCollege.
