Allegan Area Educational Service Agency issued the following announcement on May 6
Outdoor Discovery Center is offering a series of three stand alone sessions for PreK-8th grade teachers that will provide a platform with other adults to look at ways to respond to the social and emotional needs you may have as well as the people in your home and your students. The sessions will give you a chance to ask questions, share experiences, and engage with other educator adults from outside your household as well as talk about the emotional benefits of time spent learning and exploring outside. Most importantly, an opportunity to connect, share empathy, and discover together, What’s Next!
Within each of those weeks we will have a kick-off, a time of action, and a reflection. The first week’s kick-off session will be Monday, May 11, 2-3 pm with the follow up reflection on Friday, May 15, 2-3 pm. Week 2 dates: Monday, May 18, 2-3 pm for the kick-off, and Friday, May 22, 2-3 pm for the reflection. Week 3 dates: Tuesday, May 26, 2-3 pm for the kick-off, and Friday, May 29, 2-3 pm for the reflection.
Each week offers 2 SCECHs for free and they can participate in one, two or all three sessions for up to 6 SCECHs. Also, once registered, ODC will send a welcome email with a brief survey to gauge needs and interests for each session.
