In a recent interview on "The Frank Beckmann Show," Trump 2020 Senior Legal Advisor Jenna Ellis reflected on the ongoing confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett.

Ellis, who joined the Trump 2020 campaign in November of last year, spoke highly of Barrett’s performance in the initial hearings for the Senate Judiciary Committee. In Barrett's opening remarks, Ellis told Beckmann, “She has handled all of these days of hearings with such elegance, class and really a very astoundingly sharp legal mind.”

Beckmann, who agreed with Ellis’ assessments of the first hearings, also asked if she had an idea of what the results of the confirmation process would be.

Ellis told Beckmann, “The vote has been scheduled for Oct. 22. We’re very confident that Amy Barrett will become Justice Barrett very, very soon. And the President (Donald Trump) has said that as well.”

Ellis also spoke on Trump's role in the nomination process. She said that he is “proud of [Barrett], and he’s very grateful that he's had the opportunity for the last four years to put such well-qualified justices, now three of them, on the Supreme Court.”

A topic that both Beckmann and Ellis fully agreed on was the partisan divide of the hearings between the two political parties. Both decried the aggressive questioning from Democratic Senate Committee members, particularly those of Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI). Ellis referred to such lines of questioning as “political theater,” while Beckmann said, “[The questions] had absolutely nothing to do with a role on the U.S. Supreme Court, and where they came from, I don’t know.”

Beckmann also touched on the subject of President Trump's health following his COVID-19 diagnosis. Ellis told Beckmann, “He is doing just fantastic. And his doctor has signed off, saying he’s in fully restored health.”

Ellis shared strong sentiments towards Democratic leadership and Democratically run states. She told Beckmann, “If we’ve learned one thing in 2020, it's that there is no reason ever to give a Democrat power.”
