Grand Valley State high jumper Jaivon Harrison finished tied for sixth in the final round of the men's high jump at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Sunday, June 30.

Harrison cleared a height of 2.21 meters to secure his sixth-place finish overall.

Harrison ended his first season in a Grand Valley State uniform as a two-time National Champion after claiming both the indoor and outdoor high jump titles. He cleared a height of 2.19 meters to take the crown at the 2024 Indoor Nationals and achieved a height of 2.22 meters to perform the "sweep" at the 2024 Outdoor Nationals.

Jumps Coach Steve Jones commented, "What an incredible finish to the season for Jaivon. He is solidifying his place as one of the best high jumpers in the country. Jaivon, Eli Kosiba, and Jonathan Rankins-James will continue to work to be the best in Grand Valley history and the country next season. Thank you to Grand Valley for the opportunity to bring our squad to Eugene and have a chance to represent the country in Paris."
