33 GVSU athletes earn USTFCCCA academic honors
The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) men's and women's cross country and track and field teams have been recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as All-Academic Teams. Additionally, 14 men and 19 women from GVSU earned All-Academic Athlete status.

ALLENDALE, MICH. – For the fourth time in his professional career, former Grand Valley State Track and Field Hall of Famer Chris Hammer has qualified for the Paralympics. The 2008 graduate will be competing in the triathlon, which starts on September 1 and concludes on the 2nd.

Senior athletes Myles Kerner and Klaudia O'Malley have been recognized with Track and Field/Cross Country CoSida Academic All-America Honors. Kerner was named to the first team, while O'Malley earned a spot on the third team.

Myles Kerner named GLIAC male scholar athlete of the year
Senior thrower Myles Kerner has been named the 2023-24 GLIAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year, as announced by the league office. The Grand Rapids native maintained a 3.9 cumulative GPA as a communications major during his tenure at Grand Valley State.
