Following their selections as the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Midwest Region honorees, Jerry Baltes, Matt Conly, and Jaivon Harrison have been recognized with national honors by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA). Baltes was awarded the NCAA Division II Women's Coach of the Year, Conly received National Women's Assistant Coach of the Year, and Harrison was named NCAA Division II Men's Field Athlete of the Year.
Baltes has been acknowledged as National Women's Coach of the Year for leading his team to a successful season in 2025. Under his guidance, the women's squad accumulated 60 points at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships, capturing their first outdoor National Championship title since 2012. The team achieved two individual championship titles and earned multiple All-American honors while setting new records in various events.
Conly's recognition comes after coaching GVSU's throwers to contribute significantly to the team's success at the championships. In his fifth year as an assistant coach, he led his athletes to several podium finishes throughout the season, including one National Champion title.
Harrison's performance during this outdoor season earned him national athlete honors. The senior consistently cleared impressive heights across seven meets and ultimately secured an individual national championship title at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships with a mark of 2.18m (7-1.75). This victory marked his fourth collegiate career national title.
