Grand Valley State University has announced the appointment of Brad Bez as the new offensive line coach for its football team. Head coach Scott Wooster shared the news, highlighting Bez's previous experience and success in similar roles.

Bez joins GVSU after two seasons with the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where he served as the offensive line coach. During his tenure, the Falcons achieved a 14-7 record over two seasons, facing several top-ranked teams. Notably, Bez coached Alex Klecker, a consensus All-American in 2023. The team's offensive line was instrumental in achieving an average of 43 points and 197.1 rushing yards per game that year.

Scott Wooster expressed enthusiasm about Bez's addition to the coaching staff: "We are extremely excited to have Brad Bez join the Grand Valley State football coaching staff," he stated. Wooster emphasized that Bez's familiarity with GVSU's systems would ensure continuity and enhance recruiting efforts for developing championship-caliber offensive linemen.

Before his role at UW-River Falls, Bez worked as an offensive line graduate assistant at Western Michigan University for two seasons. There, he contributed to an 8-5 season and a Quick Lane Bowl appearance while coaching three All-Mid-American Conference honorees on the offensive line in 2021. His earlier experience includes a stint at Wayne State University, where he helped guide their team to an 8-3 record and second place in the GLIAC.

Brad Bez is originally from Okemos, Michigan, and graduated from Kalamazoo College in 2019. He was a key player on their offensive line throughout his college career and excelled academically, making both the Dean's List and MIAA Academic Honor Roll multiple times. He holds a bachelor's degree from Kalamazoo College and completed his master's degree in Sports Administration at Wayne State.
