The Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's lacrosse team is set to face Davenport University in the GLIAC Tournament semifinals this Friday evening. This matchup marks the third meeting between the two teams within eight days, with GVSU aiming for a place in Sunday's Championship game.

GVSU has already secured victories against Davenport twice this season. Last Friday, they triumphed 13-3 at home, followed by a 9-4 win on Monday during their regular season finale. In their home victory, Hailey Crittenden, Maddy Champagne, and Sydney Stone each achieved hat tricks, while the defense forced 20 turnovers and collected 31 groundballs. Kaylyn Cater contributed with three saves.

In Monday's game, both teams were tied at four by halftime; however, GVSU outperformed Davenport in the second half with a 5-0 scoreline to seal the win. Sydney Stone recorded another hat trick, Zoe Ziegler scored twice, and Maddy Champagne added four points to become the highest-scoring player in GVSU history with 226 career points. Cater made five stops as GVSU completed an unbeaten regular season GLIAC record of 6-0.

This semifinal match-up repeats last year's encounter where GVSU defeated Davenport decisively with a 21-2 scoreline. During that game, Champagne scored four times while Sydney Stone and Ashleigh Rothe each had hat tricks. Cater earned another victory in goal with three saves.

GVSU seeks its fourth consecutive GLIAC Tournament championship and eighth overall tournament title.
