The GVSU women's lacrosse team concluded their season with a narrow defeat in the Midwest Regional semifinals. Despite overcoming a four-goal deficit to force overtime, the Lakers were defeated 13-12 by Regis.

The game began with the Lakers taking an early lead of 5-1 in the first quarter, thanks to goals from Sydney Stone, Ashleigh Rothe, Hailey Crittenden, Maddy Champagne, and Ella Boose. However, Regis managed to close the gap with two late goals, ending the quarter at 5-3.

Regis then scored three consecutive goals to take their first lead at 6-5. Although Champagne equalized for GVSU, Regis finished the half ahead at 8-6.

Crittenden's goal brought the Lakers within one point again, but Regis responded with three more goals early in the fourth quarter. The Lakers rallied with a 5-1 run that included scores from Stone and DeYoung, along with two more from Champagne. This brought them within one goal of Regis at 12-11 with just under two minutes remaining.

In a critical moment, Aislynn Alkire forced a turnover with only 28 seconds left on the clock. This set up Stone for a free position attempt after being fouled during a breakout play. She successfully tied the game at 12 to push it into overtime.

During overtime, Regis secured possession from the opening draw and scored with just over five minutes remaining to claim victory.

Champagne led GVSU's scoring efforts with four goals while Stone added three. Crittenden contributed two goals; Boose, DeYoung, and Rothe each scored once. Assists came from Stone, Crittenden, Rothe, and Jillian Bingman.

Defensively for GVSU, Alkire was notable for forcing five turnovers and collecting five groundballs. Hope Leinen caused two turnovers as well. Kylie Waeghe and Kaylyn Cater both picked up two groundballs each; Cater also made four saves as goalkeeper.
