Four members of the Grand Valley State University (GVSU) women's lacrosse team have been recognized with IWLCA All-American honors. The announcement was made by the organization today, highlighting the achievements of Sydney Stone, Aislynn Alkire, Maddy Champagne, and Kaylyn Cater.

Sydney Stone has been selected for the second team. She was a standout player this season, scoring 54 goals and achieving 13 hat tricks. As GLIAC Midfielder of the Year, Stone also led her team with 61 draw controls, gathered 44 groundballs, and caused a team-high 32 turnovers. This marks her first career selection as an IWLCA All-American.

Aislynn Alkire played a crucial role in what is considered one of the nation's best defenses. Her efforts included forcing 29 turnovers and collecting 40 groundballs from her position on the Laker backline. Additionally, she contributed with 11 draw controls and was named GLIAC Defender of the Year. Like Stone, this is Alkire's first time being honored as an IWLCA All-American.

Kaylyn Cater received recognition as part of the third team after an impressive season where she already earned GLIAC Goalkeeper of the Year honors. She ranks third nationally with a .512 save percentage and leads in allowing only 4.70 goals per game. Cater accumulated 83 saves alongside 16 groundballs and secured 15 wins for GVSU this season. Notably, she had eight games with five or more saves and achieved her milestone of reaching her 100th career save earlier this year.

Maddy Champagne has been named an IWLCA All-American for the second consecutive year after earning second-team honors last season. She led GVSU with a total of 72 points through scoring 57 goals along with contributing 15 assists during this year's campaign which included recording twelve hat tricks too! Furthermore: Champagne added to these statistics by achieving additional metrics such as securing around fifty-nine successful draws controlled; forty-eight successful attempts at picking up loose balls; twenty-one times causing opponent turnovers.
