Grand Valley State earns 31 All-America honors from USTFCCCA

Grand Valley State University has been recognized with 31 All-America honors by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2024 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season. The announcement was made on May 28th.

The USTFCCCA awards First-Team All-American honors to athletes who finish in the top eight of their respective events, including relay team members. Second-Team honors are given to those finishing between ninth and twelfth place in individual events.

Grand Valley's track and field team received a total of 31 All-America accolades, with 20 awarded to male athletes and 11 to female athletes. Of these, 22 were First-Team honors.

For the men's team, Grand Valley achieved 15 First-Team honors, with eight attributed to relay squads. Myles Rhodes distinguished himself by earning two First-Team honors as part of both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams.

Caleb Futter also earned recognition with two All-America honors: First-Team in the steeplechase and Second-Team in the 1500m event.

In high jump, Jaivon Harrison, Jonathan Rankins-James, and Eli Kosiba each secured First-Team All-America status after placing first, third, and sixth at Nationals last weekend.

On the women's side, seven First-Team All-America honors were awarded. Erika Beistle stood out by winning two National Titles in women's shot put and discus.

The women's throwing events saw additional success with Shelby Ulven and Alaina Omonode receiving First-Team honors in hammer throw, while Margaret Stevenson was honored for her performance in discus.

Klaudia O'Malley earned dual recognition with a First-Team honor in the 1500m event and a Second-Team honor in the 5000m event.
