The Grand Valley State track and field team hosted their first outdoor meet of the season in Allendale, Michigan, from March 5th to 6th. The event was named the GVSU Early Meet. Concurrently, the Lakers' pole vault team participated in the Spartan Invitational on March 5th.

At the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Wyatt Alwine tied for second place in the men's pole vault with a height of 4.97 meters. Max Rauch achieved fifth place with a personal-best height of 4.97 meters, while Dolan Gonzales finished eighth with a height of 4.67 meters.

In women's pole vault at the same event, Taylor DeHommel secured second place with a height of 4.05 meters, ranking her fourth overall in Division II for women's pole vault. Lily Renfrew finished fifteenth with a clearance of 3.40 meters.

Back in Allendale during day one of the GVSU Early Meet, four field events took place on March 5th. The women's throws team excelled in the hammer throw, taking the top three spots led by Shelby Ulven's personal-best throw of 58.71 meters. Alaina Omonode followed in second place with a personal-best throw of 56.90 meters and Natalia Pluff placed third with a throw of 48.13 meters.

On the men's side, Shane Byrne won first place in hammer throw with a distance of 61.42 meters. In javelin, Preston Nichols led Grand Valley State to claim top two positions with his throw measuring 52.84 meters and Will Gaston following closely at 48.88 meters.

Day two commenced with Erika Beistle achieving a new personal best in women's discus throw at 55.31 meters for second place finish—improving her previous record by approximately 2.29 meters.

The Lakers dominated women’s shot put standings from first through fourth places: Mackenzie Bohrer won first (14.90m), Paige Westra came second (14.33m), Margaret Stevenson third (14.31m), and Reette Thorns fourth (13.19m).
