Grand Valley State enters NCAA tournament as sixth seed facing Ohio Dominican

The Grand Valley State softball team has secured a spot in the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament, as announced by the NCAA. The Lakers have been designated as the sixth seed and are set to compete against Ohio Dominican, the third seed, in their opening match on Thursday, May 9 at 3:30 PM in Nashville, Tennessee.

Trevecca Nazarene will host the bottom half of the Midwest Region as the second seed. Northwood, which claimed victory in the GMAC Tournament, has earned the seventh seed and will face Trevecca Nazarene in their first-round matchup.

The victor from this segment of the bracket will progress to the Midwest Super Regionals. They will compete against whoever emerges from the top half of the region, hosted by Indianapolis, who holds the top seed position. The two winning teams will then engage in a best-of-three series for a chance to advance to the College World Series held in Longwood, Florida.
