Eli Kosiba, a standout athlete from Grand Valley State University, has received votes for The Bowerman Preseason Watch List. This recognition was announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). It marks the first instance in which a Grand Valley State athlete has been acknowledged in this manner.

The Bowerman is regarded as "The Heisman of track & field" and is awarded to the top male and female collegiate track & field athletes each year. The selection process considers performances exclusively from the collegiate indoor and outdoor track & field seasons, excluding cross country results. The current season began on November 29, 2024, and will conclude on June 14, 2025.

Throughout the season, there are eight watch lists released, with the next update scheduled for Thursday, February 6 (men). Each "watch list" includes ten at-large individuals along with several other athletes who receive votes.

Kosiba's inclusion places him among 18 other athletes from Division I institutions. Notably, he is the only male vote-getter from a Division II institution and one of five athletes recognized from non-Power Four institutions.

Eli Kosiba gained attention following his debut in the 2024-25 season. At the GVSU Holiday Open in December, he broke multiple records and matched an 18-year NCAA DII indoor high-jump record of 2.30m (7-6.5). His performance earned him USTFCCCA and GLIAC Athlete of the Week honors.
