At the recent GVSU Bill Clinger Classic, Grand Valley State University athletes recorded 64 personal bests, marking a significant achievement in the 2024-25 indoor season. This surpasses previous records of 49 personal bests at December's GVSU Holiday Open and 58 at last week's GVSU Bob Eubanks Open.

In addition to these personal achievements, 15 records were updated or added to the GVSU All-Time Top 10 Indoor Track & Field Record Book.

The list of personal bests includes standout performances across various events. In the 60m race, Jayla Graham achieved a time of 7.70 seconds, while Mason Floria clocked in at 7.04 seconds. Brooke Barkocy tied for ninth all-time with an 8.80-second finish in the 60m hurdles, and Dominic Downes matched eighth all-time with a time of 8.08 seconds.

Alaina Diaz's performance in the 200m race was notable as she secured the fourth all-time spot with a time of 24.69 seconds. Michael McNeil also made it into the top ten all-time list by securing ninth place with his performance in the same event.

Claire Neumann's time of 56.37 seconds placed her tenth all-time in the women's 400m race. In middle-distance races, Caleb Futter ran an impressive time of 1:50.25 in the men's 800m, earning him fourth place on GVSU’s all-time list.

Lauren Kiley's mile run was completed in just over four minutes and forty-six seconds, placing her seventh on GVSU’s all-time list, closely followed by Maria Mitchell who secured eighth place with a similar timing.

In field events, Erika Beistle set a new record for shot put with a throw measuring over seventeen meters, which is now number one on GVSU’s historical list for this event category.

Grand Valley State University's athletes continue to excel as they progress through their indoor track and field season, achieving both individual successes and contributing to team milestones.
