Three athletes from the Lakers have been recognized as GLIAC Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week. The announcement was made by the conference this morning. Myles Rhodes was honored in the track category, while Eli Kosiba and Alaina Diaz were acknowledged in the field category.

Myles Rhodes received recognition as the GLIAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week following his performance at the University of Michigan Silverston Invitational. On Friday evening, he competed in both the 200m and 400m events. The senior athlete secured first place in the 200m with a personal-best time of 21.20 seconds. In the 400m, he finished second with a time of 47.82 seconds. His performance in the 200m ranks him 12th in NCAA Division II.

Eli Kosiba was named GLIAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week after recently being named Runner-Up at the 2025 USATF Indoor Championships. During Sunday's competition against top national high jumpers, Kosiba cleared a height of 2.22 meters (7-3.25) to win silver, having easily cleared two previous marks.

Sophomore Alaina Diaz earned honors as GLIAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week due to her achievements at Friday's GVSU Tune-Up. In her final home meet of the indoor season, Diaz achieved a personal-best long jump of 6.02 meters (19-9) on her first attempt and recorded a mark of 6.00 meters (19-8.25) on her second attempt. She is now ranked number two in GVSU history and number six in NCAA Division II.
