Grand Valley State men's tennis narrowly loses to Rollins

The Grand Valley State men's tennis team faced a narrow defeat against Rollins College, ranked seventh nationally, with a final score of 4-3 on Monday afternoon. This result brings the Lakers' season record to 6-2.

Rollins secured the doubles point by winning matches at both No. 1 and No. 2 positions. The pair of Denys Zamaraiev and Chimo Minguez achieved a victory with a score of 6-3 at No. 3 doubles. However, Victor Lopes and Lucas Gonzalez were defeated 3-6 at the top doubles position, while Stephen Claassen and Lawrence Ivanov lost narrowly with a score of 5-7 at No. 2 doubles.

In singles play, Denys Zamaraiev won his match in straight sets with scores of 6-4, 6-1 at the top singles position. Jorge Ruiz also claimed victory in straight sets, winning 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Ignasi Garros triumphed in a three-set match with scores of 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 at No. 6 singles. Meanwhile, Lucas Gonzalez was defeated with scores of 1-6, 3-6 at No. 2 singles. Victor Lopes fought through three sets but ultimately lost with scores of 3-6, 6-4, and finally losing the last set by a margin of two games (2–6) at No.3 singles position whereas Patricio Sepulveda fell short with scores of 4–6 and then further down to only one game won (1–6) in his second set competing as number four player for this match-up .

The Lakers are scheduled to conclude their Florida trip against Florida Southern College on Tuesday morning in Lakeland, Florida where they will face off starting from ten o'clock local time .
