Eli Kosiba, the national high jump champion, will represent United States of America Track & Field (USATF) at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China. The event is scheduled for Friday, March 21, with the men's high jump finals set to begin at 6:30 a.m. EST.

Kosiba will face competitors from nine different countries in a field of 12 athletes. He is ranked 51st globally and enters the competition seeded ninth with an entry mark of 2.24 meters (7-4). Notably, he is the sole representative for the United States in this category.

His inclusion in the USATF team follows his performance as Runner-Up at the USATF Indoor Championships in February where he cleared 2.22 meters (7-3.25). This matched his achievement from the previous year at the same championships.

Kosiba's collegiate career has been marked by significant achievements. In the opening meet of the 2024-25 indoor season, he equaled Jim Dilling's indoor high jump record from 2007 by clearing 2.30 meters (7-6.5). This feat earned him USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week honors and broke both Grand Valley's school and facility records.

Throughout his final season as a Laker, Kosiba consistently cleared heights of at least 2.20 meters (7-2.5) across six meets. His collegiate journey concluded triumphantly when he was named National Champion in men's high jump at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships with a mark of 2.23 meters (7-3.5).

Fans can follow live coverage of the World Athletics Indoor Championships on Peacock from Thursday through Sunday, with additional broadcasts on NBC and CNBC.
