Grand Valley State University's track and field team is set to commence its 2025 outdoor season on March 22 at the Polar Bear Classic, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, Indiana. The Lakers will be represented by 56 athletes across various events for both men and women.

The Lakers enter the outdoor season following a successful indoor campaign that included four individual national champions and 36 All-America honors. The women's team finished third nationally, while the men's team secured the National Runner-Up title.

GVSU's women's squad aims for their 25th consecutive GLIAC title and a third NCAA DII outdoor championship. The men's team seeks their seventh consecutive conference title and second national outdoor championship.

Notable athletes competing include throwers Maggie Stevenson, Alaina Omonode, Kennedy Jackson, and All-American Michael Griffey. Stevenson's entry mark in discus is 55.51m, while Omonode's hammer throw stands at 59.79m. Griffey will compete in both discus and hammer throw after his podium finish at the national championships.

Freshman Imogene Brumbaugh will join sophomores Josie Bentz, Abigail DenOuden, and Ashley Atkins in the women's high jump event. Eight long jumpers from GVSU are also scheduled to compete, with Dylan Lafontsee leading the men with a 7.14m entry mark.

In pole vaulting events, four women and three men will represent GVSU. Running events will feature six men and two women competing in the 1500m race, led by Logan Tracia and Colin Vanderschaaf for the men.

The day's schedule includes multiple races such as the 400m, 100m, hurdles events, as well as a highly contested 800m event featuring eight male competitors from GVSU. The day concludes with the 200m race and a single submission for the 4x400m relay team consisting of Adair Artis, Tinsae Nelson, Tanner Guczwa, and Lleyton Axline.
