GVSU secures lacrosse win against Concordia-St. Paul, 17-10

The Grand Valley State University women's lacrosse team, currently ranked 17th, secured a 17-10 victory over Concordia-St. Paul on Friday. With this win, GVSU's overall record stands at 6-3 and they are 1-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play. Concordia-St. Paul, meanwhile, moves to a 5-5 record overall and 1-1 in GLIAC competition.

The Lakers led 5-3 after the first period and extended the lead to 10-5 by halftime. In the third period, GVSU extended their advantage further, adding three goals to Concordia-St. Paul's one, resulting in a 13-6 lead. The game concluded with a four-goal fourth period securing the 17-10 win.

Jillian Bingman and Zoe Ziegler were key players for the Lakers, each accumulating five points with four goals and one assist. Ashleigh Rothe contributed three goals and two assists, also reaching five points. Ella Boose scored two goals and provided two assists, totaling four points, and Gracie Bancroft added two goals. Goalkeeper Kaylyn Cater, hailing from Chanhassen, Minnesota, started the game and earned the win. She made four saves while allowing five goals. Sarah Krause also played in goal, making two saves and allowing five goals.
