Laker track and field teams participated in two events, the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing and the GVSU Early Meet in Allendale, Michigan. The pole vault team competed at Michigan State, while other events took place at Grand Valley State's home opener.

At the Spartan Invitational, the men's pole vault squad included ten athletes, with Dolan Gonzales leading the group with a 4.95m mark, placing second. Camryn Battjes ranked fourth, achieving a season-best mark at 4.80m. For the women, Brooke Bowers secured second place with a mark of 4.10m.

Meanwhile, back in Allendale, at the GVSU Early Meet, several athletes set personal records. In hurdles, Ethan Smith won the 110m hurdles at 14.60. The women's 100m hurdles final saw Destini Dorkins finish first with a personal-best of 14.35. In the sprints, Myles Rhodes repeated his personal-best to win the men's 100m finals. The women's team swept the podium in their 100m finals.

In the jumps, Alaina Diaz made history by claiming a new school record in the long jump, reaching a distance of 6.19m. According to a statement in the press release, "The junior is the new school record-holder in the event and now ranks third in NCAA DII."

Day two of the GVSU Early Meet will commence on April 5 at noon, with live results available. Fans can follow the Grand Valley State track team's official social media for updates and coverage.
