GVSU baseball to host Roosevelt in a four-game GLIAC series

Grand Valley State University's baseball team, currently ranked 11th, is set to take on Roosevelt University in a series spanning four games, beginning today. The Lakers hold a record of 24-9 and 7-5 in the conference. The series will open with the first game at 3 p.m. at the GVSU Baseball Field. On Saturday, a doubleheader will start at 1 p.m., followed by the series finale at 12 noon on Sunday.

The Lakers boast the leading pitching staff in the GLIAC, with a team ERA of 3.80. Key pitchers Collin Bradley, Jayden Denter, Allan Thorington, and Owen Avery are ranked among the top ten in the conference based on individual statistics. Additionally, GVSU has recorded a league-high 12 saves.

The team also performs well on offense, coming in second in the league for team batting average at .310. Five players maintain averages over .331. The Lakers lead the GLIAC in home runs with 31 and triples with 16, while also ranking second in runs scored with 244.
