GVSU women's golf team wins GLIAC Championship for the 18th time

The GVSU women's golf team secured the GLIAC Championship title once again, marking their second consecutive victory and the 18th overall in the program's history. The team achieved this accomplishment by defeating Ferris State in the championship match held on a Sunday afternoon in Augusta, Michigan.

The championship match concluded with the Lakers winning 3.5-1.5. Key performances included Julia Sanchez, who scored a victory by two strokes with a score of 74 (+2). Olivia Stoll and Charlotte Goersch each secured wins by a single stroke. Stoll maintained a lead throughout nearly the entire match, finishing with a score of 70 (-2). Goersch completed her match with a score of 75 (+3), achieving victory through a late surge. Paula Badino also mounted a late rally to even her match at a score of 77 (+5). Meanwhile, Megan Miron finished her round shooting 75 (+3), but was defeated by three strokes in her contest.

Looking ahead, the Lakers will participate in the NCAA Regional tournament, scheduled to take place at the Meadows Golf Course in Allendale from May 5th to May 7th.
