The GVSU women's golf team is set to begin its participation in the NCAA East Regional Championships this week in Allendale, Michigan. The tournament, held at the Meadows Golf Course, spans three days and features 18 holes of stroke play each day, commencing on Monday and concluding on Wednesday.
The tournament lineup includes 18 teams and an additional six individual competitors vying for a regional title. GVSU enters as the number two seed, following their recent victory at the GLIAC Tournament.
Representing the Lakers are Olivia Stoll, Megan Miron, Charlotte Goersch, Paula Badino, and Julia Sanchez. Lea Stotz is available as a substitute, ready to step in at the start of any round. The first round pairs GVSU with teams from Findlay and UMSL, starting at 8:20 a.m. on the first day of competition.
Grand Valley State aims to qualify for the National Championships for the 18th time in the program's history. This would mark their eighth consecutive season to achieve this feat, having previously won seven regional titles, the latest being in 2014.
