GVSU women's golf leads NCAA East Regional after opening round

The GVSU women's golf team commenced their participation in the NCAA East Regional on their home course at the Meadows in Allendale, Michigan. After completing the first round of 18 holes, the Lakers hold a six-stroke lead with three players ranked within the top ten.

In terms of team performance, GVSU leads with a score of 290 (+2), followed by Findlay, which is six strokes behind at eight over par. Tiffin and UIndy share third place at +18, while UMSL concluded the day in fifth position with a score of twenty-four over par.

Individually for GVSU, Olivia Stoll and Paula Badino are tied for second place at one under par after both shot rounds of 71. Stoll achieved four birdies during her round, and Badino made three. Charlotte Goersch ended her round in seventh place after making three birdies to finish with a score of 73 (+1). Julia Sanchez and Megan Miron are tied for 11th position as both scored 75 (+3) with Miron making two birdies.

The Lakers will begin their second round tomorrow morning at 10:30 AM. They will again be grouped with Findlay and UMSL.
