Rep. Bill Huizenga, a U.S. Congressman representing Michigan's 4th district since 2011, has shared several tweets recently expressing his views on national security and media coverage. Huizenga, who succeeded Pete Hoekstra in Congress and previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives, often uses social media to communicate with his constituents.

On May 16, 2025, Rep. Huizenga expressed gratitude towards Director Kash Patel and FBI agents for their role in thwarting a terror plot against Michigan-based soldiers. He emphasized the importance of Patel's leadership at the FBI by stating "Thank you to Director Kash Patel and the brave FBI agents for defending Michigan-based soldiers from a sickening terror plot." He further commented on eliminating "deep state/DEI" practices in favor of focusing on saving lives.

The following day, May 17, 2025, Huizenga recommended an article by Jonathan Turley that discusses issues witnessed firsthand by those in Washington D.C. He criticized media responses to such observations by saying "Another must read by @JonathanTurley … those in DC saw the decline first hand." According to him, some individuals were willing to voice these concerns despite facing reprimands from both national and local media outlets.

Later on May 17, he extended his support and prayers for members of the Armed Forces through another tweet: "May God continue to watch over the brave men and women serving in our Armed Forces!" This message highlighted his appreciation for their service in defending national freedom.

Bill Huizenga was born in Zeeland, Michigan in 1969 and currently resides in Holland. He graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991.
