On May 21, 2025, Speaker Matt Hall expressed his support for HB 4369, introduced by Representative Brad Paquette. He noted that the bill received "strong testimony today in the House Education Committee" and emphasized its alignment with former President Trump's initiative to improve public health by banning harmful chemicals and dyes from school foods. Hall stated that this effort is focused on "Putting Michigan kids FIRST."

Later that day, Hall criticized recent budget decisions made by Democratic leaders in Michigan's Senate. In a tweet posted at 21:44 UTC on May 21, he accused @WinnieBrinks and @MISenDems of passing what he described as a "reckless billion-dollar deficit budget." According to Hall, this budget would negatively impact healthcare and childcare services by removing Medicaid coverage for 60,000 residents and reducing childcare support for 2,500 families. He assured constituents that "@MI_Republicans and I will clean up their mess through a transparent, responsible" approach.
