The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) has announced the 2025 All-Midwest Region team, recognizing three players from the Lakers as first-team honorees. The players include Jayden Dentler, a starting pitcher, Jonas Gulbrandsen, a designated hitter, and Evan Morrison, a shortstop. Dentler is noted as a consensus All-American, while Gulbrandsen and Morrison have been recognized as consensus all-region performers.
Jayden Dentler completed the 2025 season with an impressive 12-0 record and a 2.73 earned run average across 14 starts. His performance included tying the GVSU program record for single-season wins and achieving second place nationally with his 12 victories. Over the course of 89 innings pitched, Dentler delivered three complete games and struck out 69 batters. He maintained consistency by pitching six or more innings in 12 starts and limiting opponents to three runs or less in 11 outings. Dentler's collegiate career concluded with a remarkable record of 36-9.
Jonas Gulbrandsen finished the season with a .342 batting average, leading the GLIAC in home runs (15) and RBIs (62), while also ranking second in hits with 78. His achievements included contributing 13 doubles and three triples during the year. Gulbrandsen's home run tally ranked third for GVSU in a single season, while his RBI count was fourth. He recorded multiple hits in 25 games and multiple RBIs in 18 games, alongside a personal best hitting streak of 17 games. By the end of his career, he ranked third in home runs with 28, eighth in RBIs with 144, and eleventh in hits with 212.
Evan Morrison played all 57 games at shortstop, maintaining a .341 batting average with totals of 76 hits, including 17 doubles, three home runs, three triples, and driving in 43 runs. Morrison led the GLIAC in runs scored and set a new GVSU single-season record with his total of 73 runs. He achieved multi-hit performances in 22 games and multi-RBI efforts in another fourteen contests while sustaining a hitting streak over nineteen games and reaching base safely in all but one game throughout the season.
Grand Valley State University's baseball team concluded their season under second-year head coach Jordan Keur with an overall record of 43-14. The team advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division II tournament.
