Due to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s recent executive order, the Ravenna Dance Factory, located at 12335 Stafford Street in Ravenna, recently announced on Facebook that it is closing its doors for good.
The owner of the Dance Factory, Lindsey Spencer, announced the closure in a Facebook post on August 2.
“Previous orders have been vague, confusing and open to interpretation; this particular document is clear and direct with regard to dance studios and indoor dance activities," the Facebook post reads. "Unfortunately, the studio will be shutting down starting tomorrow, Monday, August 3, as these types of businesses must be 'closed to the public for entry, use and/or occupancy. Additionally, it is also with a VERY heavy heart that I am officially announcing the permanent closure of the studio. My heart is broken, and I'm sure this will be just as upsetting for the dancers... Sadly, with the tightening of restrictions and my steadily decreasing number of students, the closure is inevitable. Ms. Maddie and I will be at the studio during class times this week to hand out costumes, say goodbyes, etc."
