Cost of college went up for all students at Hope College

Tuition and fees rose 3.8 percent for 2018-19 at Hope College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Michigan students paid $34,010 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,230 more than the $32,780 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 752 students received grants or scholarships totaling $13.1 million and 461 students took out student loans totaling more than $3.6 million.

Including all undergraduates (3,149), 2,793 students used grants or scholarships totaling $42.6 million, and 1,717 students took out $12 million in federal student loans.
