Coast Guard Festival

Coast guard

City of Grand Haven recently issued the following announcement.

Boaters should be aware that all vessels moored overnight along the seawall are required to register at the Grand Haven Municipal Marina and obtain an overnight mooring permit.

There is a $60 charge for the permit; the fee only covers mooring; it does not include electricity or access to private restroom facilities at the marina. A $75 fine will be assessed to boaters that have not obtained a permit.

Boaters should be aware that they may not moor on the seawall after 12 noon on Saturday Aug. 7, 2021.

Payment can be made at: https://client.pointandpay.net/web/CityofGrandHavenMI

The city’s Department of Public Works will post this notice 24 hours in advance as a reminder.

Officials remind boaters that rafting is limited to three vessels off the seawall. Any unregistered vessel moored along the seawall will be asked to leave.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol will clear the seawall of all boat traffic at noon Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021.
