3.5% of citizens unemployed in Allegan County in 2021

Allegan County recorded an unemployment rate of 3.5% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 2,073 people out of the 119,418 living in Allegan County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Allegan County has increased compared to the 3.4% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Allegan County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 6.2%.

Of the 56,398 people who had a job during that time, 72 were employed in the Armed Forces and 56,326 belonged to the civilian labor force.
