GVSU women's golf team ties for fifth on first day of regionals

The GVSU women's golf team began their participation in the East Regional with the opening round, finishing tied for fifth place. The event is taking place in Carmel, Indiana.

After the first day of competition, Findlay leads with a score of 299 (+11), closely followed by UIndy at +12. Ashland holds third place with a score of 308 (+20). Davenport is in fourth at +27, while GVSU shares fifth position with UMSL at +29.

Among the Lakers' players, Paula Badino finished her round tied for 22nd place at six over par after scoring 78 and making two birdies. Olivia Stoll ended her round tied for 26th, achieving one birdie and a score of 79 (+7). Julia Sanchez and Megan Miron both scored rounds of 80 to tie for 36th at +8. Rachael Krieger made two birdies during her round of 82 (+10) and is tied for 47th.

The Lakers are scheduled to start their second-round play tomorrow morning at 10:00 am.
