GVSU women's golf team climbs to fourth place in regional championships

The GVSU women's golf team showed a commendable performance on the second day of the East Regional Championships, moving up to fourth place after delivering the second lowest round of the day. The event took place in Carmel, Indiana.

Findlay maintained its lead with a round score of 301 (+13), concluding the day at +24. UIndy follows closely, three strokes behind, after scoring 303 (+15) to finish at +27. Ashland holds third position at +42 with a round of 310 (+22). GVSU matched UIndy's score for the second-lowest round of the day at 303, placing them in fourth at +44. Davenport is positioned fifth at +54 after their round of 315 (+27).

Olivia Stoll delivered an impressive individual performance with a round of 69 (-3), climbing 23 spots to secure third place at +4. Her game included four birdies and an eagle. Julia Sanchez improved her standing by rising 16 spots to tie for 20th, achieving a round of 76 (+4) with two birdies. Megan Miron also had two birdies in her round of 77 (+5), ending in a tie for 23rd at thirteen over par. Paula Badino completed her day tied for 32nd with an 81 (+9). Rachael Krieger is tied for 43rd following her round of 81, which included two birdies.

The Lakers are scheduled to begin their final round tomorrow at 9:15 am.
