The GLIAC has announced its all-conference teams, with five golfers from the Lakers earning First-Team honors. Drew Coble was named GLIAC Golfer of the Year, marking him as the eighth Laker in program history to receive this recognition.
Drew Coble achieved three individual victories throughout the year, with one win in the fall and two in the spring. He consistently performed well, finishing in the top ten on four additional occasions. As the top-ranked player in the Midwest region and ranked third nationally, Coble completed 24 rounds at or below 72 strokes, including 11 rounds in the 60s. His best round score was a 67, which he achieved six times, resulting in an average score of 70 per round. His efforts contributed significantly to leading the Lakers to six tournament titles this year and securing their position as the top seed for this week's NCAA Regionals.
Alongside Coble on the first team are Nick Krueger, Manuel Cue Vargas, Bryce Wheeler, and Charlie Cooley. This marks Krueger's fifth All-GLIAC selection; he has been on the first team three times previously and once on the second team. Wheeler and Cooley were both second-team selections last season.
Nick Krueger secured five top-five finishes during his season, including a victory at the Doc Spragg Invitational held in fall. He completed 17 rounds at or below 72 strokes with a low round of 66 and is currently ranked 64th nationally. Bryce Wheeler emerged as GLIAC Stroke Play champion, marking his first collegiate career win. He achieved two other top-15 finishes while completing 13 rounds at par or better with a low round of 65.
Manuel Cue Vargas recorded five top-ten finishes with two within the top three. Ranked as the nation's 88th player, he shot under 72 for 18 rounds with a personal best of 67. Charlie Cooley also carded scores at or below par across 18 rounds with a low score of 67; he had one finish within the top three and another three within the top five.
