Grand Valley State University (GVSU) is preparing to compete in the NCAA Division II Baseball Midwest Regional #2. This marks the first time since 2016 that GVSU has advanced to this stage, following their victory in the 2024 GLIAC Baseball Tournament Championship. The Lakers will face Maryville, champions of the GLVC Tournament, on Thursday, May 16th. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start at the University of Indianapolis.
The Lakers secured their place in the postseason with a 5-3 win over Saginaw Valley State in the GLIAC title game. This appearance will be GVSU's 18th in the NCAA Tournament, and they have reached the NCAA DII World Series six times previously.
