Nick Rutkowski earns GLIAC Pitcher of the Week after shutout performance

Grand Valley State University senior Nick Rutkowski has been recognized as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Pitcher of the Week. The announcement was made by the league office in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Rutkowski's performance included 8.2 innings of shutout baseball, leading to a victory over Purdue Northwest with a score of 3-0. During the game, he allowed six hits and struck out five batters, bringing his season record to 5-2.

In addition to this accolade, Rutkowski currently leads the GLIAC with an earned run average (ERA) of 2.29. He has also moved into fifth place for career wins at Grand Valley State with a total of 19 and ranks fourth in career innings pitched with 255.0 innings.

This marks the third consecutive week that a Grand Valley State pitcher has received this honor, following Mike Morawski who was awarded the previous two weeks.
