The Grand Valley State softball team concluded their season with a 37-18 record after falling to Trevecca Nazarene 7-1 in the Midwest Regional on Saturday, May 11, in Nashville.
GVSU took an early lead in the second inning when Liberti Fair hit a double to right field and advanced to third on a groundout. MaryJane Goodman then singled to left field, allowing Fair to score.
Trevecca Nazarene responded with a three-run inning in the third, taking a 3-1 lead. The Trojans extended their advantage by adding four unearned runs in the fourth inning, securing a 7-1 victory.
Genesis Eggart started for GVSU and pitched three innings, allowing three runs and recording one strikeout. Ashley Platek provided relief for three innings and achieved two strikeouts.
Offensively for GVSU, MaryJane Goodman went 1-3 with an RBI. Liberti Fair also went 1-3, hitting a double and scoring a run. Morgan Spicer contributed with a double while Hannah Hollister and Carsyn Segorski each added hits.
