Grand Valley State University's men's basketball team achieved a decisive victory over Roosevelt with a score of 106-51 in their final regular-season game. This win brings GVSU's overall record to 16-12 and their GLIAC record to 12-8.
William Dunn led the Lakers with a double-double, scoring a career-high 28 points and securing 12 rebounds. He made an impressive 10 out of 12 field goals and was perfect from the free throw line, making all seven attempts. Jalen Charity contributed 19 points on efficient shooting, including three successful three-pointers, while Kaden Brown added 13 points with three out of five shots from beyond the arc. Javion Otten scored a personal best of 11 points alongside six rebounds, and Charles Turner also scored 11 points while achieving a career-high eight rebounds.
The Lakers demonstrated strong performance metrics, shooting 55% from the field and maintaining an accuracy of 83% at the free throw line. In contrast, Roosevelt managed only a 29% field goal percentage and hit just 12% of their three-point attempts. GVSU also dominated in rebounding with a margin of 49-33 and controlled the paint by outscoring Roosevelt by a margin of 46-20.
GVSU established dominance early in the game with an initial run of 17 unanswered points within the first four minutes. Dunn's early contributions helped set this pace. Following Roosevelt's first score, GVSU extended their lead further with an additional run to secure a substantial advantage at halftime.
In the second half, GVSU continued to extend their lead through consistent scoring runs, eventually reaching as much as a 50-point advantage late in the game before closing out with a commanding victory margin.
