Grand Valley State ends season after loss to Northern Michigan in GLIAC quarterfinals

The Grand Valley State men's basketball team concluded their season with a 16-13 record following an 85-72 defeat against Northern Michigan in the GLIAC quarterfinals on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Kaden Brown was the leading scorer for GVSU, contributing 23 points on 8-19 shooting from the field, including three three-pointers and three assists. Trevon Gunter added 16 points with an impressive shooting performance of 5-6 from the field and 3-4 from beyond the arc. Charles Turner scored nine points with three successful shots from long range and also secured five rebounds. William Dunn led the Lakers in rebounding with ten boards.

GVSU recorded a shooting percentage of 39% both overall and from three-point territory. In contrast, Northern Michigan shot at a higher rate of 58% overall and 48% from three-point range. The Wildcats narrowly out-rebounded the Lakers by a margin of two (35-33), although GVSU held an advantage in offensive rebounds with eleven compared to Northern Michigan's seven.

For Northern Michigan, Jackson Dudek stood out by scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and four assists, achieving this on efficient shooting percentages—7-9 from the field and 3-5 from beyond the arc.
