Grand Valley State wrestlers prepare for NCAA DII Championships

Grand Valley State University's wrestling team is prepared to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division II Championships. The event will take place at Corteva Coliseum, located on the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Five athletes from GVSU will be participating, with four of them holding top-seven seeds.

Junior Chris Donathan leads the team, entering as the top seed in the 149-pound category with an undefeated record of 12-0. He won the Super Region title and is set to face Brennan Watkins from King College in his first match.

Defending National Champion Josh Kenny, a junior competing at 174 pounds, holds a second seed this year. Kenny has achieved a record of 16-5 and will compete against Wyatt Reisz from Colorado Mines.

Redshirt freshman Brayden Mirjavadi is making his debut at the NCAA DII National Championship. Competing in the 184-pound division, Mirjavadi finished second at his Super Regional with a season record of 20-11. His opening match is against Kyle Pickard from Belmont Abbey.

Wyatt Miller, another junior and returning All-American, competes unseeded at 197 pounds. Miller will meet Max Ramberg of Augustana, who holds the fourth seed.

Finally, junior Carter Blough rounds out GVSU's lineup as the third seed in the heavyweight category (285 pounds) with a season record of 26-4. Blough secured his spot by winning the Super Regional title and will begin competition against Tyler Haynes from McKendree.
