The Grand Valley State University wrestling team achieved a notable 14th place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships, scoring a total of 32 points. This marks a significant milestone for the Lakers, who managed to crown four All-Americans in just their second year as a varsity sport after returning from a 32-year hiatus.

Junior wrestler Chris Donathan competed in the 149-pound category and faced a challenging semifinal match, which he lost with a score of 10-7. Subsequently, Donathan medically forfeited two consolation matches, resulting in a sixth-place finish. Despite these setbacks, he earned his first All-American recognition.

Wyatt Miller, also a junior competing in the 197-pound category, experienced an initial loss but bounced back by winning three consecutive matches. His efforts secured him All-American honors for the second year in a row. Miller concluded the tournament with a sixth-place finish and an overall record of 3-3.

Another junior, Josh Kenny, participated in the 174-pound weight class and succeeded in claiming victory with a score of 7-3 during the consolation seventh-place match. This win granted him his second All-American title.

Finally, Carter Blough, competing as a junior in the heavyweight (285-pound) division, finished eighth and received his first All-America honor.
